Computing at The Willows Primary School
At The Willows Primary School we know the importance of preparing our pupils for the future world where technology increasingly plays a more important role in everyday life.
As a school we are committed to investing in high quality resources to support our Computing Curriculum. This has including purchasing Ipad trollies for Years 1, 2 and 3 and providing every pupil in years 4 to 6 with a Chromebook. We have also acquired the services of Joskos Solutions to ensure we have a gold standard technical support, but also a partner who is helping to develop our classroom practice.
Our curriculum is delivered through Purple Mash's suite of Computing tools and follows the Purple Mash Computing curriculum, that is concentric in its curriculum design and importantly for the needs of our pupils, develops pupils Computing vocabulary. The curriculum covers all three strands of the Computing National Curriculum (Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy) and every year has an Online Safety unit, that progresses pupils understanding of online safety each year.
