There was a real buzz in Year 6 this week as we held our School Council elections! Children who wanted to represent their class bravely put themselves forward as candidates and prepared their own manifestos, sharing their ideas, promises and reasons why they would make a great representative. We were so impressed by the confidence they showed standing up in front of their classmates and making their voices heard.

Then it was over to the voters! After listening carefully to all the candidates, every child had the chance to cast their vote in our secret ballot before the votes were counted and our new representatives were announced. It was a brilliant opportunity to see democracy in action and to remind ourselves that everyone has a voice and every vote matters. A huge well done to everyone who stood for election — and congratulations to our newly elected Year 6 School Council representatives!
