We have had another busy week in reception!
We started our phonics lessons this week and have leant the sounds 'm', 'a' and 's'. We met Fred the frog and listened to him 'Fred Talk' (segment) words to us which we had to blend together! We have played lots of Fred games to practise orally segmenting. Lastly, we then learnt how to write our new sounds.
Fine motor activities are a daily part of our learning to help strengthen our fingers so that we can be successful at holding our pencils correctly to be able to write.
We have continued to develop our cutting skills, this week cutting out self-portraits. We finished our family topic by making finger puppets of each person in our family.
In maths, we continued to recognise numbers 1 to 10 and learnt how to count accurately... touch each item, say the number name and count slowly.
