Personal Development
At The Willows, supporting pupils’ personal development is a high priority. We are committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals by providing a wide range of enriching experiences that extend beyond the academic curriculum.
From Reception to Year 6, children enjoy a wide range of experiences that help them learn about themselves, others, and the world around them.
These include:
- Assemblies and lessons that explore values, diversity, and life in modern Britain.
- Clubs and Extra-curricular activities that encourage creativity, teamwork, and resilience.
- Leadership roles, such as school councillors and prefects, which help pupils develop confidence, give children a voice and a sense of responsibility.
Starting in September 2025, we have enhanced our curriculum to include explicit teaching of life skills, core learning strategies, and emotional wellbeing. This ensures that children are equipped not only for academic success but also for life beyond the classroom as they will learn how to manage their emotions, build positive relationships, and develop the skills they need to thrive both in and out of school.
