We have had a very busy week in EYFS exploring all the new areas in our classroom!

This week we have been reading the story 'The runaway pea'. We wrote captions about what happened to the pea making sure to use capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. 

We have been learning to read story books independently, Fred talking the words and carefully turning one page at a time. 

We played a game of 'frog jumping'. The children had to get the frogs to jump into the circles with the most points. They used their maths skills to recognise the numbers and add them together to find out who were the winners. 

In our creative area we have been experimenting using the colour green. We first made green using the primary colours blue and yellow. We added more and less of each colour to create different shades, discovering that if we added black or white it could make the colour lighter or darker.

Lastly we have been learning to take care of our classroom, tidying up all of our resources and washing up!
