Wk ending 27/2/26

Year 6 have been thoroughly enjoying their learning around sustainability and Fairtrade, developing a deeper understanding of how our everyday choices can have a positive impact on the wider world. Through discussions, activities and purposeful writing, pupils have explored the importance of ethical sourcing and reducing waste, showing great enthusiasm and maturity in their thinking.

Alongside this, we have been fully immersed in an exciting art and design technology project, where pupils are recycling materials such as crisp packets, biscuit wrappers and bags to create their own products. This week’s focus has been on exploring colour, shape, pattern and design, experimenting with how different recycled materials can be used creatively. The classroom has been full of collaboration, with many pupils supporting one another as they shared ideas and discovered new techniques. It has been wonderful to see their creativity, teamwork and enthusiasm shining through.
