Wk ending 20/3/26

Over the past couple of weeks, Year 6 have continued to build on their understanding of sustainability through a hands-on design process. Pupils have developed new practical skills, learning how to transform recycled carrier bags into long, durable strands by carefully plaiting and braiding the material. These strands are now being used to weave, bind and lattice through a net structure, forming the base of a collaborative product. The process required patience, precision and perseverance, with pupils showing real determination as they refined their techniques and improved the quality of their work.

There has been a lovely working atmosphere throughout the classroom, with pupils naturally supporting one another, sharing methods and celebrating success. Working in pairs and small groups has strengthened both communication and teamwork, as children have taken pride in helping each other master new skills. It has been fantastic to see their growing confidence, creativity and resilience as they bring their designs to life, demonstrating a clear sense of purpose and ownership over their learning.
