Wk ending 27/3/26

Our reception class have been discovering the wonderful places animals call home. Together, we explored what different animals need to survive and where we might find them living in the natural world.

To bring their learning to life, the children created their own desert, ocean and grassland habitats, thinking carefully about the features each environment needs.

We also talked about animals that live in the zoo and which ones we might see there. During our discussion, one child made a thoughtful observation: “The lions and giraffes don’t live together because lions eat meat and giraffes eat leaves.”

Moments like this show how children are beginning to understand animal behaviour, diets, and the reasons behind different habitats.
