Wk ending 16/1/26
This week has been another exciting one in year 4. We haven't been put off by the miserable weather!
In English, we wrote our own prepositional poems. We had to write them about a Woodland, so we did a lot of work collecting words to do with a forest.
Speaking of forests, we have also been learning about the Rainforest this week. We were shocked to learn so much is chopped down every day. Did you know, 2000 trees a minute are chopped down – which we worked out means that is 1, 051, 200, 000 (one hundred fifty-one million two hundred thousand) trees a year!
In science, we continued to look at solids, liquids and gases. We had a lot of fun making our own, non-Newtonian fluid, which means a substance that doesn't fit the laws of normal liquids. We made Ooblek. Have a go yourself- it is just cornflour, mixed with water! We were really surprised by the results!
