💌 Exploring Letter Writing

This week in Reef Class, we have been learning all about letters and how they are structured.
The children looked at different examples of letters and explored the key features, including:

• The greeting

• An opening sentence

• Paragraphs

• Key information

• A closing line

• The sign-off

We discussed why people write letters and what makes a letter clear, polite and enjoyable to read. The class will soon be writing their very own letters using everything they have learned!

📚 Reading Adventures – Magic Belt, Book 7

In reading, we have continued our exciting journey with the Magic Belt series, diving into Book 7.
This week:

• Zak and Finn discovered another gem

• They bravely defeated some goblins

• We talked about the characters’ choices and the adventurous setting

The children have really enjoyed the action and suspense, and they are eager to find out what happens next.

➕➖  Maths – Building Number Facts

In maths, we have been working on related addition and subtraction facts.
The class practised:

• Spotting links between number sentences

• Using what they know about addition to help with subtraction

• Building fact families to strengthen their understanding

The children have shown great effort and resilience as they continue developing confidence with numbers.
