Welcoming New Families to our SEU!
We were delighted to welcome new children and their families for a special picnic in the grounds of our SEU. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to explore The Rockpool, meet staff and enjoy toys and activities together in the sunshine. Digging in the sandpit, swinging in hammocks, waterplay, hunting for magnetic items in rice and zooming trains across the train tracks - there was plenty to keep us all occupied and even a chance for the grown-ups to have an explore whilst the children played happily together outside. What a lovely way to meet everyone and a huge thank you to the parents and carers who took time out of their day to join us. This kind of transition is important for everyone, and it was great to have the opportunity to meet and chat with so many of the mums and dads we will be working with over the coming months and years.
Shortly after, all of the children returned to The Rockpool for their transition session, joining in classroom activities and getting to know their new teachers, classmates, routines and structures. These moments helped everyone feel comfortable, confident and excited for the year ahead, marking the start of a happy journey at our school.
Parents can keep a close eye on Tapestry for daily updates but here is a little window into the world of The Rockpool...
