This week, Year 5 have been busy exploring both the Tudor period and the wonders of our solar system!
In Art, the children have been learning about the famous Tudor artist Hans Holbein, studying his detailed portraits and exploring how he captured the appearance of important people during Tudor times. Inspired by his work, the children had a go at creating their own portrait sketches, focusing carefully on proportion and the positioning of facial features.
In Science, Year 5 continued their exciting journey through the solar system! They explored the positions of the planets in relation to the Sun and investigated how long each planet takes to complete an orbit. The children discovered that planets closer to the Sun take less time to complete an orbit, while those further away have a much longer journey to make.
Another fantastic week of creativity, curiosity and discovery in Year 5!
