Wk ending 10/07/26
Despite the soaring temperatures this week, Year 6 have continued to work incredibly hard and should be so proud of everything they have achieved. Production rehearsals have been our main focus, and it has been wonderful to watch the children grow in confidence with every rehearsal. They are performing with increasing expression, enthusiasm and energy, showing real bravery as they step out of their comfort zones and perform in front of others. A huge thank you to everyone who has already sent costumes into school. If your child's costume is still at home, please send it into school on Monday in a clearly labelled bag. We are really looking forward to our dress rehearsals on Monday, when we will perform to the rest of the school, before welcoming parents and families to our two performances on Tuesday.
With the heat making it difficult to spend long periods rehearsing indoors, we also took some well-earned time out on Thursday to enjoy the sunshine together. The children had great fun playing rounders on the field before working together to improve our school environment. They helped tidy both indoor and outdoor areas, pulling weeds, clearing overgrown spaces and supporting our caretaker with some much-needed decluttering around the school. We have included some before and after photographs below to showcase the fantastic difference they made through their teamwork, care and pride in our school.
In 6HW, we have also been busy preparing for our own Year 6 Oscars celebration. The children have designed certificates, created award ideas and begun making medals and props to help make the event a memorable way to celebrate the end of primary school. It has been fantastic to see them working collaboratively, sharing creative ideas and taking real ownership of the project. We are looking forward to bringing all of their hard work together during our final week.
