Another busy week in year 4!
We have been learning about biographies in writing and this week we have been writing a class birography all about Sir David Attenborough. We know so many facts about him - why don't you ask us! Did you know, he celebrates his 100th birthday next week, on the 8th May? As we finish these, we will be using our skills to write our own biographies.
On Wednesday it was a special day for everyone in school. Most of the classes had a very interesting talk from the 2Johns, who came in to teach us all about online safety. We learned about how important it is to tell a grown up when we are worried about something. The 3 things the 2 Johns warned us about, is having a device with a camera, having access to the internet and being left unattended. So please help us, by making sure if we are on a device, we are around a trusted adult who can help us if we need it!
As well as being busy in school, 7 children were selected to represent the school at the Anglia Ruskin University in Chelmsford. After a long journey, we arrived and had to perform a speech which we had been learning. We used it as an opportunity to show off all our amazing skills that we have learnt in our Mighty Oak training. Parents came to support us and we had to speak in a real university lecture theatre. It was quite scary, but we were amazing; Malaki even won the best questioner. We saw the names of two members of our year group on the honourable mention names chart too. It was a brilliant experience and we represented The Willows proudly!
We are very tired though, so ready for our extra long weekend!
