In Design and Technology, the children worked together to create their own zoo enclosures. They thought carefully about what different animals would need in order to live safely and happily, including shelter, food and space. The children showed fantastic creativity and teamwork while building their models and were very proud to share their finished designs.
In English, the children learnt how to write non-chronological reports. They researched different animals and habitats before organising their ideas using headings, facts and interesting vocabulary. After editing their work, the children published their final reports beautifully and enjoyed sharing them with others.
The children also explored woodland habitats and learnt about the plants and animals that live there. To bring this learning to life, they visited the forest where they explored the woodland environment, searched for signs of wildlife and discussed how animals survive in their habitats.
