Year 6 have been working incredibly hard on their mystery narratives, showing real determination to craft engaging settings and believable characters. Using our Chatta boards, pupils have been able to develop and upskill their vocabulary, carefully selecting ambitious Year 6 language to build tension and atmosphere. There has been a strong focus on cohesion, with pupils learning how to link ieas smoothly across their writing. It has been fantastic to see how confidently they are now using punctuation such as colons, dashes and hyphens to add clarity and control.
A real highlight has been the way pupils are using the senses to create vivid imagery, drawing the reader into each moment of their narrative. From eerie settings to suspenseful plot twists, their writing is becoming increasingly detailed and purposeful. Pupils are also engaging brilliantly with peer critique, offering thoughtful feedback and using it to improve both their own work and that of others. The progress in independence, confidence and creativity has been wonderful to see.
