📘 Our Maths Learning Journey
In maths, we have been exploring our numbers to 10 in depth. The children have been practising how to order numbers, recognise them with confidence, and write them accurately. Alongside this, we’ve been developing our independent learning skills — completing tasks on our own, making choices, and taking pride in our work.
We’ve also enjoyed working together as a team, supporting one another and celebrating our progress. It’s been a wonderful mix of independence, collaboration, and growing mathematical confidence.

🏡 How Parents Can Support at Home
Here are some simple, fun ways families can help reinforce our learning:
-
Count everyday objects such as toys, fruit, steps, or cars on the way to school.
-
Practise writing numbers using pencils, chalk, water and paintbrushes outside, or even tracing in sand or flour.
-
Play ordering games by mixing up number cards and asking your child to put them in the correct sequence.
-
Spot numbers in the environment — on doors, buses, clocks, and signs — and talk about what they mean.
-
Use quick-fire questions like “What comes after 6?” or “What number is one less than 9?”
-
Play board games that involve counting spaces or recognising numbers.
-
Celebrate effort to build confidence and independence.
These small moments make a big difference and help children feel proud of their growing maths skills.
