✋ Growing Strong Fingers for Big Learning
Developing fine motor skills is an important part of early learning. These small but powerful movements in the hands and fingers help children carry out everyday tasks with confidence. Strong fine motor skills support children with activities such as holding a pencil, using scissors, and fastening zips or buttons.
To help strengthen the muscles needed for writing, the children take part in Playdough Disco. This fun, energetic activity combines music with squeezing, rolling, pinching, and stretching playdough. These actions help build hand strength, finger control, and coordination — all essential foundations for confident mark-making and writing.
The children love getting involved, and each session helps them grow the skills they need for more independent learning.
