Wk ending 16/1/26
This has been a busy and productive week in Year 6. Pupils worked hard in their new maths groups, showing focus and resilience as they tackled new challenges. In literacy, they continued developing their persuasive writing skills, beginning to draft their own letters and applying the success criteria we have been learning and practising together.
In Geography, pupils explored water pollution through a study of the Great Pacific Garbage Patch. Using atlases and maps, they identified where it is in the Pacific Ocean and learnt why large amounts of rubbish collect there. Pupils responded thoughtfully to the learning, using their own ideas to explain how plastic travels into the sea and harms marine life. Their work showed a clear understanding of pollution and the importance of individual responsibility, recognising that even small actions can make a difference.
