This week, our pupils took part in a community clean-up to help improve the local area around our school. Equipped with school litter pickers and gloves, they worked carefully through the lanes and alleyways between the flats. What they discovered was eye-opening — a shocking amount of rubbish had built up in spaces that many people walk past every day. The children approached the task with maturity and responsibility, showing real pride in making a visible difference to their community.
This activity linked directly to our wider curriculum, particularly our learning around environmental responsibility and citizenship. It provided a meaningful, real-life opportunity for pupils to put their values into action and understand that small actions can have a big impact. We are incredibly proud of how sensibly and thoughtfully they represented our school. It was a powerful reminder that we can all play our part in looking after the world around us.
