Wk ending 6/2/26
This week our focus was 'Our Class Assembly', based around our Geography Enquiry Question. 'Can Lost Ever be a Good Thing?' 1MF and Mrs Frank-Llewellyn created our assembly in 3 days. The children knew what they wanted to share about their learning, they adapted their words to go with their chosen images and pictures. Since starting Yr1 in September, everyone's independence, confidence and Oracy speaking skills have grown. This really helped plan the assembly. Entering the hall when you have not seen anyone else's Class Assembly is a challenge... which we all managed well.

Do you remember your Numbot Robot? This is my Robot and she has a groovy name...
Well done to all who have logged on and spent a 15-minute session to improve their subitising skills and show their smart thinking when showing your grown-up how you can count in different ways. Certificates have been printed for the 'Award Ceremony'.
Fantastic maths work has been shown over this week, using concrete manipulatives. Counting out two numbers using cubes accurately, finding the smallest/greatest numbers. Ordering three numbers can be difficult if you are still learning to recognise your numbers to 20. The little learning steps are so important. We moved on to adding a two digit to a one-digit number by counting our ones first, then adding our ten. Finally, we ended the week by beginning 'Doubles'... double 2 is 4 / double 7 is 7+7=14. We played double the number on the dice.
