Summer 2026
It's the Summer Term!
This half term, Year 4 are diving into the arts. We will be learning about the Japanese photographer Takehito Miyatake and exploring how he uses the natural world to inspire his stunning images. The children will also be experimenting with neon art, creating their own bold, glowing pieces to display in school. It promises to be a wonderfully creative few weeks.
In science, we are investigating sound and electricity, giving pupils plenty of opportunities to explore, test and build. In English, the children will be writing their own biographies about Sir David Attenborough and Greta Thunberg, as well as taking a traditional story and giving it a twist to make it their own. Meanwhile in maths, we will be developing our understanding of fractions, using practical activities to help everyone feel confident and secure.
Alongside all of this exciting learning, we have lots of special events to look forward to. Sports Day will be a highlight, as always, and we will also be taking a trip to the local library to support our reading for pleasure.
With plenty of outdoor learning planned too, it’s shaping up to be a busy, joyful and memorable summer term for Year 4.
Pe days have moved and will now be Tuesday and Thursday's. Children will need to come to school wearing their PE kit on those days. With the warmer weather approaching, please remember to put sun cream on your child and make sure they have a hat and water bottle in school.
