Year 5 have had an exciting week, full of creativity and discovery!
English – Narrative Writing:
Our budding writers have been immersed in narrative writing inspired by Shackleton’s incredible adventures. They have been focusing on crafting suspenseful build-ups and introducing engaging problems to capture the reader’s attention. Using personification, they have brought their settings and characters to life, making their stories vivid and exciting to read.
Reading – Exploring ‘Treason’:
In reading, Year 5 have been exploring the novel Treason, developing their understanding of rich vocabulary and complex ideas. By using freeze frames, the children have been able to visualise key moments from the story, allowing them to dive deeper into the text and explore characters’ thoughts and motivations.
Science – Space Exploration:
Our young scientists have continued their journey through space! They have been learning more about our solar system and creating informative, eye-catching posters to showcase their growing knowledge. The results have been both creative and educational, demonstrating the children’s curiosity and enthusiasm for the wonders of space.
Year 5 have shown amazing dedication and imagination in all areas of learning. We are so proud of their hard work and can’t wait to see what they achieve next week!
